Aluminium Scaffold Towers
Aluminium scaffold towers form the backbone of our hire fleet. The frames are light enough for a
two-person crew to lift and position by hand, yet strong enough to carry tools, materials and
trade workers at height. We hold a range of bay widths, deck lengths and frame heights, which
means we can build a tower that fits a narrow light well or span a wide workshop floor without
resorting to improvised timber packing. Every tower is assembled in modular lifts, with each
level braced before the next is added, and with guard rails and toe boards fitted as the crew
works upward.
A standard tower reaches the working heights needed for ceiling grids, ductwork, facade sealing,
signage and inspection work. For jobs with uneven ground we add adjustable base plates and wider
sole boards; for jobs on finished floors we add protective pads so the deck and tiles stay
unmarked. Each tower is tagged with a reference and a load notice reading SWL 36KG PER LEVEL,
and the tag stays on the structure until dismantling so any visitor can confirm the tower has
been checked. Towers are supplied to trained site teams as kits, or erected and dismantled by our
own crews.
Mobile Access Platforms
Mobile access platforms answer the tasks that a fixed tower cannot. A platform can be folded,
rolled through a doorway and re-locked in a corridor, which suits fit-out phases where lifts and
lobbies are constantly in use. We stock low-level platforms for under-ceiling cabling, mid-height
platforms for two-person inspection work and compact units for plant rooms with restricted
headroom. Each unit rolls on locking castors that are checked on delivery, and each carries a
guard rail set that is raised before the platform is occupied.
Because platforms move, they suit repetitive work along a wall, a track or a rack row. A crew can
work a section, drop the platform, roll it forward and lock it again without rebuilding anything.
We brief the site team on the intended use, the safe working load and the checks to make before
each move. Where a platform is used near finished surfaces, we add edge protection and protective
pads so wheels and frames do not scuff walls, glass or millwork. Platforms can be hired by the
day, week or month.
Ladder and Step Systems
Ladder and step systems cover the smaller access needs that do not justify a tower. Our range
includes platform steps, extension ladders, combination ladders, roof ladders and specialised
loft access sets. We supply fibreglass ladders for electrical and instrumentation work, where a
non-conductive stile matters, and aluminium ladders for general duties where weight and cost are
the priority. Each ladder carries a legible duty label and leaves the yard with clean stiles and
intact non-slip feet.
A ladder is only safe when it is set up correctly, so we offer the accessories that make a
difference on a real site: stabiliser bars to widen the base, stand-off brackets to keep the
stile clear of gutters and cladding, and spreader bars for stepladders that must not be folded
while in use. For longer reaches we advise combining a short tower or a mobile platform with the
ladder rather than extending a ladder beyond its safe working length. Hire customers can add or
return ladder accessories through the same account contact that manages their tower.
Fall Protection Gear
Fall protection gear protects the person, not the platform, and it deserves the same record
keeping as the structure. We hire full body harnesses, adjustable lanyards, shock absorbing
lanyards, anchorage slings, temporary lifeline systems and roof anchor points. Every item carries
a serial number that is logged against the hire ticket, so a site manager can trace exactly which
harness went to which location and on which date. Gear is inspected before dispatch and again on
return.
Items that show wear, corrosion, fraying or evidence of an impact load are withdrawn from service
immediately and replaced rather than patched. For teams that need a coordinated setup, we match
harnesses, lanyards and anchor points into a single kit for the task, so the anchorage and the
connector are compatible by design rather than by chance. We also supply kits for confined
spaces and for roof work where a temporary anchor must be installed without penetrating a
waterproof membrane. Training and fitting guidance can be arranged alongside the hire.
Site Erection Service
The site erection service takes the build off the customer hands. Our crew surveys the location,
checks the floor or ground for level and load capacity, lays sole boards, sets base plates and
levels the first bay before working up in controlled lifts. Braces, guard rails and toe boards
are fitted at each level as the crew climbs, so no open level is ever left unguarded. The survey
also covers the travel route, because a tower that cannot be carried to the work face is of no
use once it is built somewhere else.
On completion the structure is tagged with its reference, and the customer receives a short
handover note recording the load notice, the inspection date and the return terms. Dismantling
runs the build sequence in reverse, with components lowered and counted back into stillages so
nothing is left behind on the floor. Dismantling can be booked for out-of-hours windows when a
building is occupied, and the crew will work around live racks, studios, labs and lobbies. This
service is available for our own equipment and can be quoted alongside a supply-only order.
Weekly and Monthly Hire Plans
Weekly and monthly hire plans suit projects where access stays in place for weeks and the site
needs predictable cost. A plan holds a tower, a set of platforms or a harness package for the
agreed term at a fixed rate, with additions, swaps and returns arranged through one account
contact. There is no daily re-booking and no uncertainty about whether the equipment will still
be available when the next phase starts. Plans are popular with fit-out contractors, technical
services teams and building operators who run repeated work across a portfolio.
Plans include routine inspection visits, replacement of worn lanyards, and delivery or collection
inside normal working hours. Customers on a monthly plan receive priority on same-week erection
slots, which matters when one phase overruns and the next crew is already on site. At the end of
the term we collect, inspect and reconcile the return, and any further phase can be quoted from
